One Armed Robbery: Print and Play Edition
A downloadable game
One Armed Robbery is a print and play solitaire card game about committing crimes to pay your rent. You play as Lizzie Smithson, master pickpocket, as she wanders the streets searching for marks to lift from, represented by pairs of cards that need to be matched in your hand.
The game can be played without a table or any sort of surface--you just hold it in your hands and keep the cards in your hands while playing. Thus, you can play it ANYWHERE--on the bus, on the plane, in bed, on the toilet (toilet play not tested yet sorry), anywhere!
On a personal note, I consider this game to be my magnum opus. It's the final destination of a lot of design and art ideas I've been entertaining since 2008. Everything I love, from Sly Cooper to endless runners to solitaire games to Look and Find books, has it's place in this work, in one way or another. I'm very proud of it.
So play it, please! I'll bet you like it. I mean, *I* love it, and I'm an idiot! See ya!
UPDATE: Well, I finally bit the bullet and made the game free! I even added some new content for the occasion (that to be fair I was planning to add anyway)! Will you play it now? I genuinely do consider it to be my magnum opus, I wasn't joking in that last paragraph.
UPDATE THE SECOND: I added a new file, containing a supplemental zine that includes some tips and tricks, some alternate game modes, a postmortem of the game based on my reflections since making it, and some promotional materials I made a while ago. This one is NOT free--but it's not necessary to enjoy the game. Buy it if you want a little extra content!
